Supreme Court scrutinizes university's use of race in admissions - CBS News [dayinformations.blogspot.com]

Question by Smooch The Pooch: What's this about Obama saying "we had incomplete information"? In regards to a possible second stimulus... Ummm...I thought we had to pass it right then or the sky would fall. Maybe he should have waited for the COMPLETE information. And if anyone had actually READ the bill... Thoughts? And any defense of this would be pure craziness. Case in point on the defender most expected to make an excuse for it. Best answer for What's this about Obama saying "we had incomplete information"?:

Answer by Al James
Something the puppet masters forgot to tell them.

THE 2ND GREAT DEPRESSION HAD TO BE PREVENTED. IT WAS. YOU'RE WELCOME. Most of the FIRST stimulus bill money hasn't been disbursed yet. We are still waiting for the paperwork from the State & Local governments. Wanna help? Call your state & local governments & say: IF YOU ARE APPLYING FOR STIMULUS MONEY, GET OFF YOUR BUTT AND SEND THE PAPERWORK ALREADY.

Obama is a nightmare.

Lesse, Bashing my head into the wall comes to mind. I mean they aren't going to listen to us so I might as well post a video of me caving my skull in. Maybe it will put food on the table or get MJ off the air.

Answer by Confused ...
Because GWB and its Republicans hid away the worst and dirtiest information from Obama last winter.

Answer by Vivi
There will be defense of this and you know it. We know obama can only damage this country with his policies.

Answer by Don B
Duh whats so hard for Republicans to understand that the Bush Administration oversold their wars and undersold the facts that their policies were even MORE devastating than we all thought

Answer by Not My Fault!
He's such an @ss! They had the information when they made their projections about the stimulus spending and how we HAD to pass it right then. Even CNN is saying that these statements from the WH are incorrect! They promised a max of 8.1% uunemployment & their projections were based on this - RIGHT! We're screwed! Problem is the pork spending won't help the economy, it isn't being used for it's intended purposes and states are using their portions on things because their budgets are so screwed up! This is a new low in incompetence! Obama is a FAILURE! He can't blame this on Bush since these are all his policies at "work."

Answer by Teddy
He also said that the recession that "he inherited" was as bad as the great depression. All he is doing is making it worse. Way to go to all you idiots that voted for this moron!

Answer by Arnold
They hadn't read the sequel to The Communist Manifesto?

Answer by Inconvenienttruth
Don't yous ee though, it had to be the economy that was wors ethen they thought, cause it could no way be the fact that the stimulus did nothign to create or save jobs(what little of it has been spent) other then some temporary positions. It also couldn't be the fact that some businesses taht might be willing to bring people back are now looking at increased costs under cap and trade, as well as smaller companies that can't afford health care for their employees, facing the possibility of a tax for that. If you knew you were going o be paying more taxes and for goods, would you be in a hurry to create jobs or would you hold off and make due with what you have. if you want the perfect way to make a recession a depression just follow the Obama/Pelosi/reid model. Amnerican companies are going to start going overseas, the ones that are still here. Check out what extreme business taxes have done to Michigan, and how many companies are leaving or have left.

Answer by Klathorn
He needs a reason to keep blaming Bush. Forget the fed have lost track of over TRILLION dollars. His people are selling spots to the Washington post at 250K a pop. Not now they got caught. Yeah not reading bills is a travesty. Infomercial like spots that refuse ads that oppose. This is America we can believe in. It's like he never ran a company or had any experience but ACORN the scam organization. He isn't even trying to balance the budget. Like a drunken sailor with a new check book. Yes we can!

The Supreme Court today returned to the controversial issue of affirmative action, hearing arguments over the University of Texas at Austin's consideration of race in its admissions program.

The fate of the university's program -- and perhaps the way schools nationwide talk about race -- could rest with moderate Supreme Court Justice Anthony Kennedy. The court's four conservatives -- as well as Kennedy -- seemed interested in finding a way to dial back the use of race in college admissions without scuttling the goal of promoting diversity. Some of the most pointed and probing questions came from Kennedy, as well as Chief Justice John Roberts.

Supreme Court takes up affirmative action

If the court decides to overrule the precedent it set in 2003, which allows for a "holistic" approach to racial consideration in college admissions, its political ramifications would run deep. Dozens of high-profile figures and organizations filed amicus briefs in this high-profile case, mostly in favor of affirmative action. Business leaders and former military leaders argued to the Supreme Court that tossing out race-based affirmative action would hurt the training of future military and business leaders.

University of Texas at Austin's admissions program was called into question by Abigail Fisher, a 22-year-old white woman who was rejected from the school in 2008. Fisher filed suit, and her lawyers today argued that the university's consideration of race doesn't meet the standards of a "holistic" approach.

"We're entitled to the equal protection under the laws, and that is what this case has been about from the beginning," Bert Rein, Fisher's lawyer, told reporters after the hearing. While schools have "some interests in diversity," Rein said it should not be "an overriding consideration" in admissions. Race, he said, is "an odious and dangerous classification."
