Question by Filip N: Do you think that the Global recession will eventually lead us to a new "Black Tuesday"? Is a new "Great depression" round the corner? Do u think it will soon end with a stock market crash and a nearly absolute halt in industry as it did in 1929? Serious answers only please! Best answer for Do you think that the Global recession will eventually lead us to a new "Black Tuesday"?:

Answer by SDD
It is unlikely since the conditions that led to the Great Depression are not operative here. if there were to be a real crash, it would most likely be triggered by something really cataclysmic overseas. These are not things one can predict, since they would be quite random.

the only things people had 120 years ago were trains and fire places,., but now we ran out of new things to sell. so it is just natural just like, people wanting to understand enough about something only enoguh to help, . becuase how would people know i dont really care about things people say are bad,., so it doesnt hurt GOOD people who would want some one who could really understand it mess with it and have something fdun to think about, instead of just being another of the obvious habited speices in this habitat!

Greetings! First off, contrary to popular belief the depression was not caused by the Black Tuesday. It was a blip on the screen and the market was back in business on Wednsday. All the stories told of people jumping out windows is folklore. The real depression was caused by banks which were failing. Like what you are seeing first hand right now. The same foreclosures now happened then. Had the government had then the FDIC it would have been a recession as people would have been able to recover their cash. Now let me also state, that there is no global recession at this time. However the US is in a DEPRESSION. Case in point is that 2 years ago, the Euro was worth .75 to the dollar. Today it is 1.58 to the dollar. So you see it has doubled in 2 years. This is due to the ongoing imbalance in trade. It was a bad move to enter the free trade agreement because Americans are buyers, not sellers. Thus we as a country face the devaluation of our money. For example: Ford built a plant in Viet Nam. So we created an economy for them in the terms of spending money to create infrastructure, employees, service companies etc. Yet, how many fords are bought in that country? Think about it. It is not in those terms a global economy but a global welfare system. Now the stock market can't crash because the US Treasury Dept is separte from the government and is free to print and distribute money. Like this, Bear Stearns a bank selling at 67 a share is in trouble. The Treasury can't let them fail. So they broker a deal with them and Chase Bank to acquire the company which was selling at 67 a week earlier, at now 2 dollars a share. It gets better. The Treasury gives Chase 30 Billion which Chase uses to buy 29 Billion dollars of stock at $ 2. That Sunday Chase touts the stock as being worth 10 a share. Lo an behold the stock opens on Monday at 10. So 14.5 billion shares of stock at an 8 dollar profit and not even on their money. THAT IS WHAT YOU HAVE TO FEAR. GOVERNMENT MEDDLING ON THE GROUNDS THEY HAVE THE ABILITY PRINT MONEY. That is why the new currency is the Euro, That is why Gasoline is 4 dollars, That is why foreign nations are buying up this country. (Japan is largest landlord in NY City) (China has tried to buy CAL Electric). So what do we do? First off government spending must be cut back. All wars encampments troops must come home. They are providing other countries with an economy. We must inaugarate buy American incentives. Yet.......... In the last ten days, while this country is in a deficit spending mode, the congress has spent a half trillion dollars. Whew. So please do not believe it is the stock market. It is simply that our representatives have booked passage on the ship of fools. Good Luck

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania | Tue Oct 2, 2012 10:22am EDT

HARRISBURG, Pennsylvania (Reuters) - A Pennsylvania judge on Tuesday halted for the November 6 U.S. general election a controversial requirement that voters in the state provide photo identification at the polls, a decision expected to influence Election Day turnout in the battleground state.

The ruling by Commonwealth Court Judge Robert Simpson comes exactly five weeks before the presidential election and puts on hold the law requiring all voters to show either a state driver's license, government employee ID or a state non-driver ID card in order to vote.

The law was passed earlier this year by the Republican-led legislature without a single Democratic lawmaker's vote.

Supporters of the voter ID law say it is aimed at ensuring that only those legally eligible to vote cast ballots.

Critics say it is designed to keep minority voters, who typically vote Democratic, away fr om the polls.

The state of Pennsylvania has acknowledged that there has never been a case of in-person voter fraud, according to court testimony.
