Gazans fire barrage of mortars at Israel after IAF strike - Jerusalem Post [dayinformations.blogspot.com]
Question by Fred M: How is waterboarding effective if 99% of the "information" given is false? Best answer for How is waterboarding effective if 99% of the "information" given is false?:
Answer by kathy_is_a_nurse
Because your statement isn't true. Edit: Note to Seldon... What the Japanese called "water boarding" involved pouring buckets of water down the prisoners' throats then putting a board across their belly and jumping on it until their stomachs burst. That's like saying a Volkswagon Beetle and a Mercedes are both cars, so they must be the same. So you see... there's torture (which that certainly was) and there is "harsh interrogation" (which was what WE did)... despite calling it by the same name.

Who gave you that stat..oh..let me guess.

In the same way that a police tipline is effective even if 99% of the tips are false. The copes check out all 100% of the tips, and the one that turns out to be true results in an arrest.

Give us a credible link to your stats and we'll talk. So far, the falsehood is lying directly in your question.
Answer by Seldon Surak
1. WATER BOARDING DONE TO US BY JAPANESE WAS PROSECUTED AS A WAR CRIME 2. TORTURE YIELDS BAD INTEL, BECAUSE THE VICTIMS GOAL IS TO STOP THE TORTURE, NOT TO REVEAL THE TRUTH

Who told you that 99% of information was false. Was it MSNBC? Why do you feel for terrorist who would cut your head off for no reason? I don't care if they torture just for the fun of it.
Answer by robot_hooker5
That's because 107% of your questions are based on lies.

I don't know about your 99% stat, but I can tell you that the reason we went into Iraq was because of information given by a gentleman by the nick-name of "curveball" who was confined for quite some time and tortured by foreign intelligence groups. Guess what? He lied too. Seldon is correct, water-boarding was deemed to be "torture" during their war crimes trials. Why conservatives think its okay for the US to do it rather than other nations is beyond me. Some of these people honestly believe the photo-op for AF1 is a more important story than whether or not we're torturing people. Seriously.

Because they were able to get the answer they wanted to feed to the American People.. Truth didn't matter in these cases only that we could justify our attacks on other countries for our greed and cover for our governments own lies they fed the American People. BTW it wasn't 99% was false but enough of it to be able to distort the truth. "MISSION ACCOMPLISHED!!!"

granted what you say is true, that one time, and this is a fact, prevented the brooklyn bridge from being dropped. KSM of gitmo gave up a name during one of these sessions that lead to an arrest. how many people would have been on that bridge during rush hour? birth control is only 99% effective yet women still get preggers? and four former CIA heads say different. i would tend to side with them.

I think you should ask John McCain. He himself stated that if you torture someone for long enough he will make up whatever he thinks will stop the torture. And for those who claim waterboarding isn't torture, he said it was.

Even so, its still great family entertainment
Gazans fired around 40 mortar shells into the Eshkol region of southern Israel Monday morning, less than 24 hours after an IAF airstrike hit the southern Gaza city of Rafah, injuring 10 people.
There were no immediate reports of injuries from the mortar fire Monday morning, although shrapnel lightly damaged one home. Authorities asked residents in the Eshkol region to remain in protected spaces.
On Sunday, the IAF targeted two men it said were involved in previous attacks against Israeli soldiers and civilians, including a June 18 attack along the Sinai border that killed one civilian. The two were allegedly planning further attacks in the Sinai, an IDF statement said.
Along with the two terrorists, the IAF strike injured eight civilians, including three children.
According to the IDF, the strike targeted Talat Khalil Muhammad Jerbi and Abdullah Mohammed Hassan Makawi.
